Supplier (Vendor) Registration Process — Belize
Procedure to add or update suppliers in the Government of Belize accounting system (SmartStream) for payments; requires completing Vendor Authorization Forms (P1 for persons, B1 for businesses).
What it does
The Supplier (Vendor) Registration Process governs adding suppliers and payee information into the Government’s accounting systems so they can receive payments. Vendor management and the use of the SmartStream system are described on the national procurement portal.
Distinction from publication or tender registration
This registration is an administrative vendor/payee database and payment-record procedure, distinct from responding to procurement notices or bid submission. Forms and supporting documents are submitted to the procuring entity for entry into SmartStream rather than being a separate bid-registration step on opportunity listings.
Practical consequence for suppliers
To be added or updated in SmartStream for payments, suppliers must complete the correct Vendor Authorization Form (Persons P1 or Businesses B1) and submit it with required documents to the relevant procuring entity; the procuring entity provides assistance with the registration process.
