Department of Contracts (Malta)
The Department of Contracts is Malta’s central government procurement authority, providing national procurement guidance, ePPS administration and customer support for contracting authorities and suppliers.
Role
The Department of Contracts is the central government authority responsible for public procurement policy, oversight and support. Official guidance describes it as the only Central Government Authority and the centre of excellence and national reference point for public procurement matters.
Functions
The Department issues procurement rules and procedural advice and maintains the government’s ePPS framework. It publishes resources on procurement procedures and operates customer‑facing units, with listed contact points for ePPS support for contracting authorities and a separate ePPS contact for economic operators.
For suppliers
Suppliers and contracting authorities seeking authoritative procedural guidance, clarifications or technical support for using the ePPS should use the Department’s published contacts and customer care channels.
