Vendor registration (Supplier's Register — Barbados)
Vendor registration creates a Supplier's Register entry on Barbados' procurement system, recording company contact details and enabling a supplier account required before the government may contract.
What it does
The Supplier's Register is a record of supplier information for the Government of Barbados, holding contact and identification details such as name and address. Prospective vendors begin registration by selecting the "Register as a Vendor" link on the procurement site and completing the on‑screen prompts. After registration a confirmation email provides a transaction code needed to activate the vendor account.
How it differs from a portal account
The Register is an authoritative record of supplier details. A Bonfire portal account (activated using the emailed transaction code) is the access credential vendors use to log in and submit bids and view submissions; the two are related but distinct.
Practical consequence for suppliers
Under the Public Procurement Act, government entities must not enter into a procurement contract with a vendor unless the vendor has been registered by the Chief Procurement Officer. Registration is free and regional or international firms need not provide a TAMIS Number.
