e-GP System (Electronic Government Procurement) — Zambia

Zambia's e-Procurement (e-GP) System is ZPPA's internet-based platform for conducting government procurement relationships and offering supplier services such as registration and e-learning.

What it is

The e-Procurement System (Electronic – Government Procurement, or e‑GP) is the use of information and communications technology by government to conduct procurement relationships for goods, works and consultancy services. The e‑GP entry on the ZPPA site describes the system as an ICT platform used by government to interact with suppliers.

Functions shown on ZPPA

ZPPA's website links the e‑GP System to supplier-facing features: a supplier registration pathway, an e‑learning module, a helpdesk and tender/notice pages. The site also lists records and report sections related to procurement that are published alongside the portal.

Regulator versus platform

ZPPA remains the statutory authority that publishes the Public Procurement Act, regulations and circulars. The e‑GP System is ZPPA's ICT platform for implementing procurement processes; it does not replace the Act or the regulations published on ZPPA's site.
