Útboðsvefur — Icelandic public tender notices

Útboðsvefur is Iceland’s shared public procurement notice platform, covering opportunities advertised by public bodies including central government, municipalities and utilities.

What is published

The platform carries advertisements and notifications about planned public procurement. Official guidance describes publication above applicable domestic and international thresholds and also allows public bodies to advertise below-threshold purchases for transparency.

Language and monitoring

The guidance requires notices to be in Icelandic, including when the tender documents are in another language; an additional language version can also be published. Suppliers can subscribe to notices to monitor new opportunities.

From notice to response

Identify the buyer and read the instructions for obtaining documents and sending an offer. An advertisement is an entry point into a procurement, not a substitute for the complete tender pack. Check the permitted response language in the tender documents rather than assuming it from the language of the notice. Keep the procurement reference when following links or asking the buyer for clarification.
