Registro Único de Proveedores (RUP) — Single Supplier Register, Ecuador
The Registro Único de Proveedores (RUP) is Ecuador’s official supplier register on SERCOP that records supplier data, CPC product codes, and the company size used for state habilitation.
What it is and what it does
The Registro Único de Proveedores (RUP) is Ecuador’s official supplier register administered by the Servicio Nacional de Contratación Pública (SERCOP). It is the record used for habilitation as a state supplier and contains supplier data, assigned CPC product codes and the company category (micro, pequeña, mediana).
How it differs from portal browsing or a simple profile
The RUP must include the CPC code that appears in a given contracting process; the portal states that if a provider lacks a required CPC code they must request an update through the competent RUP offices. The register also requires a single registered domicile matching the principal tax address (no separate branch address for RUP).
Practical consequence for a supplier
Suppliers should verify their RUP lists the CPC codes required by tenders and correctly shows their company category. Where codes or updates are needed, the portal directs users to complete the update via RUP offices ([1]).
