GeBIZ — Singapore government procurement
GeBIZ is Singapore’s government procurement portal, where suppliers find opportunities and participate in the procurement processes specified by public buyers.
How purchasing is organised
Singapore’s ministries, departments, organs of state and statutory boards generally conduct their own procurement under central Ministry of Finance guidelines. Common requirements can also be bought through central arrangements.
Quotations and tenders
The procurement route depends on the estimated value and applicable rules. The official guidance distinguishes small-value purchases, quotations and tenders. Tendering can be open, selective or limited; these are different routes, not interchangeable descriptions of every GeBIZ opportunity.
Reading an opportunity
Check the procedure, eligibility requirements, response instructions and evaluation criteria. Best value does not simply mean the lowest headline price. A supplier should connect its proposed solution and evidence to the buyer’s published requirements. Use current official guidance for financial thresholds, rather than assuming that a remembered value applies to every purchase.
