e-Vergabe — electronic procurement in Germany

e-Vergabe describes electronic procurement in Germany and also appears in the names of platforms used to publish competitions and receive bids.

A process and a platform name

Electronic procurement covers exchanges such as access to documents, communications and the submission of offers. The federal e-Vergabe platform is one implementation; the term does not mean that every German public contract uses a single submission website.

Follow the notice

Identify the contracting authority, the publication reference and the platform designated for the procedure. A search service can help discover a notice while the documents and response workflow sit on another system.

What to prepare

Check account requirements, formats, signature instructions and the closing time early. Keep the tender’s communications in the specified channel. German procurement also distinguishes above-threshold and below-threshold rules, with additional differences between federal and Land-level purchasing. A platform account by itself does not establish that a bidder meets the procurement’s qualification requirements.
