Central Procurement Board (St. Vincent and the Grenadines)

A Cabinet‑appointed oversight board through which the Ministry of Finance exercises oversight of central government procurement; membership mixes senior officials and private‑sector appointees.

What it is

The Central Procurement Board is the Cabinet‑appointed body through which the Ministry of Finance exercises oversight of public procurement under the Public Procurement Act No. 34 of 2008. The government’s About Us page states the Board is appointed by Cabinet annually ([1]).

Membership and mandate

Official material lists members: the Director General, Finance and Planning (or designate); the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Trade; the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Works; the Accountant General; and three members appointed from the private sector. These entries appear under the Board heading on the same About Us page.

Practical consequence for suppliers

Suppliers should note the Board’s oversight role and composition, which informs governance and policy directions. The About Us page does not set out operational tendering procedures and indicates the Central Procurement Office is "to be established", so day‑to‑day supplier interactions are addressed elsewhere.
