AusTender (Australia)
AusTender is the Australian Government’s central procurement information system publishing planned procurements, open tenders and key contract awards and supporting secure electronic tendering.
What AusTender publishes
AusTender is described in the Commonwealth Procurement Rules as the Australian Government’s centralised web‑based procurement information system. It publishes relevant entities’ planned procurements, approaches to market, open tender notices and key contract details, and it supports secure electronic tendering.
Distinction from transactional systems
The CPRs present AusTender primarily as a publication, monitoring and review facility used to meet entities’ publishing obligations. Although it supports electronic tendering, the CPRs do not characterise AusTender as solely a back‑office contract management or accounting system.
Practical consequence for suppliers
Suppliers should monitor AusTender to identify procurement plans, open approaches to market and published contract notices. Entities use AusTender to publish standing offers and other arrangements established by the reporting entity.
