*****Do not submit your response via GETS******** Documentation including the Request for Application (RFA) document, terms and conditions, other forms, criteria and submission details are available at: https://www.justice.govt.nz/about/lawyers-and-service-providers/court-report-writers/forensic-report-writers/how-to-apply-to-be-a-forensic-report-writer/ The Ministry of Justice is seeking to expand its existing syndicated panel of Forensic Report Writers to ensure courts and the New Zealand Parole Board (the Board) have timely access to high-quality forensic reports. The Ministry is seeking applications from suitably qualified psychologists and psychiatrists to join our panel. Forensic reports are used in criminal proceedings to assess an individual’s mental state under legislation such as the Criminal Procedure (Mentally Impaired Persons) Act 2003 and the Sentencing Act 2002. These reports support judicial decision-making, including determining fitness to stand trial, sentencing considerations, and the nature of legal orders. In addition, under section 117 of the Parole Act 2002, the Board has the power to receive forensic reports from health assessors to assist it in carrying out its statutory functions in relation to individuals appearing before the Board. The Ministry of Justice invites applications to join the Ministry's Syndicated Forensic Report Writers Panel. You must be able to meet the following pre-condition to apply: The Applicant has demonstrated experience in the provision of forensic reports within a common law criminal jurisdiction. All providers that meet the pre-condition and then are assessed as meeting the mandatory application criteria will be accepted. The panel will remain open for applicants at any time, but submissions received after this procurement deadline will be assessed on a quarterly basis after this process has concluded. Applications must be sent to ForensicPanelApps@justice.govt.nz and not submitted via GETS. Any applications submitted through GETS will not be considered.
