WDC-26-151 - Whakatāne Floodwall Integration – Quay St and the Strand demolition work

Whakatāne District Council is seeking proposals from suitably qualified and experienced demolition contractors to undertake the complete demolition and removal of buildings located at: • 31, 33 and 35 Quay Street, Whakatāne • 58, 60 and 62 The Strand, Whakatāne The project forms part of the wider floodwall integration programme approved by Council and will support the redevelopment of the area following demolition. The successful supplier will be responsible for the safe demolition of all specified buildings, removal and lawful disposal of all demolition materials, including asbestos-containing materials, and implementation of all required health, safety and traffic management measures. This project offers an opportunity to deliver a high-profile demolition project that will play a key role in enabling future floodwall integration and redevelopment within Whakatāne's waterfront precinct.
