Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking to establish a national panel of suppliers to provide contingent clinical workforce services across Medical Officers (Locums), Allied Health, and Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare Assistants. Health NZ relies on contingent workforce providers to support workforce shortages, maintain continuity of patient care and ensure clinical services can continue to operate effectively across New Zealand. The current arrangements are due to expire in February 2027 and Health NZ is undertaking an open competitive procurement process to establish a new national panel. The objective of this procurement is to create a more consistent, transparent and nationally coordinated approach to sourcing contingent clinical personnel. The future panel will support improved workforce access, stronger supplier accountability, enhanced credentialing and compliance requirements, better reporting and visibility of spend, and improved value for money. Respondents may submit proposals for one, two, or all three workforce categories. Health NZ is seeking suppliers with demonstrated experience in healthcare workforce recruitment and placement, including the ability to support both planned and urgent workforce requirements across metropolitan, regional and rural locations. Health NZ is seeking suppliers that can operate as long-term strategic partners and contribute to a nationally consistent workforce solution that supports quality, continuity of care and better outcomes for patients and communities.
