Lyttelton Port Company is seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced wharf construction partners for the Te Awaparahi Bay Port Expansion and Resilience Project, an $821 million investment to expand and strengthen the South Island’s key international trade gateway. The project will deliver a 388-metre deepwater wharf, future berth capacity and a 5-hectare container terminal, supported by new ship-to-shore cranes and semi-automated gantry yard crane operations. The works are intended to provide long-term capacity, operational resilience and supply chain reliability for exporters, importers and the wider regional economy. We seek interest from contractors and consortia with proven capability in complex marine infrastructure, heavy civil works, construction staging in live operational environments, health and safety leadership, environmental management and stakeholder coordination to undertake the wharf construction. Respondents will be expected to demonstrate the technical expertise, delivery capacity and collaborative approach required to construct a major infrastructure asset while enabling port operations to continue safely and efficiently. The wharf detailed design has been completed, and a design & build contract model will not be used. Interested parties are invited to download and complete a non-disclosure agreement. Once the completed agreement has been received and processed, the EOI documents will be provided to those parties for their consideration. The completed non-disclosure agreement shall be sent to the following LPC contact: Alistair Boyce Head of Engineering and Projects Alistair.Boyce@lpc.co.nz
