LIFE Insular is an international project funded under the EU LIFE programme. The project is led by the Institute of Santiago de Compostela in Spain and NPWS and Coillte are the Irish partners. At each site, mature conifer plantations are found on fixed dunes and amenity use is significant. Two primary aims of LIFE Insular in Ireland are to restore areas of fixed dunes under conifer plantations and to develop long term management plans. There are four Irish sites, including Raven Point Nature Reserve, Co. Wexford.
