The CA is tendering for Sterilisation Reprocessing Services for Reusable Invasive Medical Devices in St James Hospital, South Dublin Surgical hub on behalf of St James’s Hospital. The HSSU requires knowledge and understanding of microbiology and the decontamination process. The supplier's facility should have the capability to perform various cleaning techniques including identification and cleaning of specific surgical instruments, special instrument lubrication and maintenance, etc. The primary functions in a Sterile Services Unit are: Disassembling, cleaning and disinfecting single instruments, surgical sets, containers, other Reusable Invasive Medical Devices (RIMD’s) Preparing, assembling, inspecting and packaging instrument trays and packs, including device functionality and safety checks. Sterilising completed trays and packs providing disinfected items acceptable for patient use.
