This is a two stage design and build for Catcliffe and Treeton Flood Alleviation Shceme (Treeton lane Bridge). The site is located South of Rotherham on B6067 Treeton Lane, Catcliffe, Rotherham, South Yorkshire. A detailed hydrological and hydraulic analysis has been undertaken and concluded the existing bridge can not accommodate the flow during flood conditions. Therefore, the freeboard and the hydraulic capacity of the bridge needed to be increased. Based on the structural condition of the existing structure, the economic and financial feasibility of road improvements, and road capacity issues, it is proposed that the existing structure be raised by approximately 900mm at the same location over the Rother River. The preferred option would be a precast ""TY"" beam with an in-situ concrete deck slab supported by the existing abutments. However, the suitability of this option will need to be assessed as part of the Design phase.
