North Island Velvet Leaf Co-ordinator

This is an opportunity to be involved in a North Island biosecurity initiative that may have the potential to expand in scope to other pest plants in the future. Council are seeking a supplier to work with the rural and arable sectors across the North Island to advocate, educate and support the control and prevention of Velvetleaf. While in-depth knowledge of Velvetleaf is not essential, someone who understands the arable and rural sectors and general biosecurity practices is preferred. We need someone who is proactive and self-managing, who has the ability to travel across the North Island, particularly during the peak season between October and May. Note: a respondent briefing session will be held on 20 July 2026 at 1:00pm - register your interest to attend by notifying the point of contact.
