Auckland Council is seeking information from the supplier market regarding the provision of specialist surveillance services for the Dutch Elm Disease (DED) control programme, managed by Parks and Community Facilities. DED is classified as an Unwanted Organism under the Biosecurity Act 1993 and the Auckland Council Regional Pest Management Plan (RPMP). Ongoing surveillance is a key management tool to support early detection, limit spread, and inform coordinated biosecurity responses across the Auckland region. This Request for Information (RFI) is intended to improve Council’s understanding of market capability, capacity, and delivery approaches relevant to DED surveillance services.
