The purpose of this RFP is to invite parties to submit proposals to provide offers for an Electricity supply contract or contracts for Watercare Services Limited (“Watercare”) that covers un-contracted supply and could extend as far as 2040. This RFP is issued on behalf of Watercare, an organisation controlled by the Auckland Council and covers a load of 124–151 GWh pa (FY24–FY25) currently under 3 contracts. Respondents can respond to the above load in full or in part. Watercare is seeking best value for money across a long-term electricity portfolio. Watercare is willing to hold a portfolio of instruments at varying levels of price and volume certainty to manage its exposure to electricity price risk accordingly. Watercare will evaluate combinations of offers to determine an optimal coverage ratio and reserves the right to apportion volume across multiple respondents and product types. Watercare is also interested in understanding how respondents can support its renewable energy objectives, including the extent to which renewable energy certificates can be provided.
