NAO Case Management Solution for Financial Audits

Modification Notice Original description: The NAO sought to transform how it undertakes financial audits by procuring a flexible case management technology solution capable of supporting dynamic workflows, robust content management, effective collaboration, data‐led audit capability, and seamless integration with existing NAO systems. To achieve this, NAO launched a Competitive Dialogue procurement exercise in 2020, resulting in the contract award in 2022. Description of the modifications The contract was amended to revise operational support arrangements £1,136,000 for Apex, including service levels, fixed support charges and capped consumption-based services. Certain performance measures and obligations were removed or reassigned. Provisions relating to Microsoft responsibility, automated testing and supplier liability were also amended or clarified. The overall nature of the contract remains unchanged Description of the circumstances which rendered the modification necessary and explanation of the unforeseen nature of these circumstances: The need for modification arose from circumstances identified after contract award and experience gained through implementation and operation of Apex, which created risks to sustainable support and service continuity. The changes were necessary to mitigate the risk of service disruption and secure a viable long-term support model for this business-critical system. The overall nature of the contract remains unchanged.
