FWITC Factory Extension Forestry, Land Use, and Value Chains Development (FORLAND) is a collaborative effort between Finland and Tanzania built upon the outcome of FORVAC and PFP to promote sustainable forestry and economic growth in Tanzania. The programme focuses on community-based forest management, plantation forestry, and value chain development. Combining FORVAC and PFP, FORLAND aims to improve upon the outcomes of both initiativesThe Forestry and Wood Industries Training Centre (FWITC) in Mafinga serves as the project’s central innovation hub, training centre, and demonstration facility. Strengthening FWITC will involve upgrading equipment, developing new engineered wood products, and enhancing institutional capacity to support SME technology uptake.As part of the FWITC upgrades, a new primary processing factory building will be constructed to provide covered industrial space for heavy log breakdown and timber processing machinery.,
