This procurement will enable the MCA to carry out a discovery and alpha exercise to explore how Ship Owners/Operators and Third-Party Ship Personnel and Management Organisations carry out their business through the MyMCA Platform. To date, the concept of MyMCA has addressed the user needs for Seafarers and how they apply for their Certificate of Competency (CoC) as well as how Short Course Providers and MCA Approved doctors integrate with MyMCA as part of that process. This new work will explore how Ship Owners/Operators and Third-Party Ship/Personnel Management Organisations will carry out their business and may include processes such as survey booking/scheduling, viewing and managing ship/other certificates and online payment for services. During discovery work, detailed user research will be carried out to understand the pain points for customers (as well as internal users) as well as identifying manual process that can be brought online for the benefits of MCA and the customers. "As is" and "To Be" user journeys will be mapped to support iterative prototype developments which will be tested with users during the subsequent alpha phase. These journeys/prototypes will then be subject to GDS assessments before its rolled into the MyMCA platform during beta. Stage 1 of the DOS 5 process was concluded via CAS on the 25/08/23 therefore this project captures Stage 2 of the process to be undertaken via online e-procurement services.
